Ya? Adult? Where is the line drawn?

I love writing YA
. I love reading YA. It is more like an obsession.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of adult reads that I enjoy as well, YA just holds a special place in my heart. Now, here is my question, it came to me while reading Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler (seriously a great read! Like you must own it! It's awesome!)

Okay, my question...

Where does the line draw between adult novels and YA novels?

How do we know what is too inappropriate and what is too young and adolescent? How much does it take to spill over the line into YA or Adult?

What about you? What do you think is too inappropriate for YA or what is simply just too naive and young for an Adult read? Where do you bloggers draw the line?

I determine it with one idea...
YA: There aren't any limits because generally the characters are finally seeing the "true" world around them. As a writer I will also show that, but with a tasteful more conservative, I guess, approach to it.
Adult: Anything goes as long as it holds to the story and plot.

I think YA is more of a "state of mind". Anything goes in YA anymore, but it's a certain time of your life. Young adults deal with all the same things as adults these days, so anything really does go. I think it mostly is about all the different things that young adults experience for the first time. They make decisions based on the heart, because they haven't hardened up yet. But that's just my opinion. I love YA. I don't think I'll ever write anything else.

i think its not the concept or subject - its how it is written.

With YA, there is this concept of the characters being new to the world. All of us want to feel this. I think that's why adults are drawn to the genre.
